Dear World,
Remember me, I’ll never fade away.
︎
It’s hard to be heard when you have loss of memory. It’s even harder when you don’t remember what you wanted to say or how to say it. I’m just grateful for all the love and patience my family has towards me especially on this days of confinement.
Remember me, keep our love alive. Remember me, I’ll never fade away.
Sincerely,
Remember me, I’ll never fade away.

About the photographer: My name is Marisabel Peña. I’m a 30-year-old woman based in Ecuador. I've been taking care of my grandmother with senile dementia this past 2 months due to COVID-19 confinement. This is a fragment of her story.
About the subject: My grandmother (93) has severe senile dementia. A mental health condition we don’t often talk about or hear about. In the few seconds she is lucid, she never forgets to say thank you and how grateful she is that we, her family, are taking care of her.
