Dear World,

It’s been a hard few months in Shanghai, but we are finally out of lockdown.

Summer is here and life is starting to feel like it is almost back to normal. However, we all know that the coronavirus crisis isn’t over yet. We are safe because our borders are closed to protect us from a second wave of infection.

Still, we are here and we are back enjoying life, picnicking in the sunshine with friends. There is a sense of hope that things will keep getting better. Eventually, we will make it through this.

I hope that people elsewhere in the world who are still isolating can see this portrait and know that they can make it out the other side. Soon enough they will enjoy all those things they are missing right now.
